Shafted by a BT dealer
I'm not one to complain usually , but my blood pressure is through the roof.
I'm a LH shooter. As such I can NEVER find a bow to try out. So I rely on what I read here, and I value the reviews I read here. So I wanted a '07 Allegiance. I bought one from a Bowtech dealer in Taylorsville,N.C.on e-bay. ( I figured I was safe buying from a dealer) He advertisied an '07 Ally shop demo. Cool ,--I'm in. The bow arrived today. IT'S A BLASTED '06. I ran the ser# w/ Bowtech to make sure. So I call the OWNER. He tells me I bought a "custom '07 Ally". WHAT???? There's NOTHING '07 about this bow. No new riser w/ a groove. No 2 piece grip. '06 cams and limb sticker. What's '07 about it. He then said to me "no return or refund" , "this conversation is over". The dealer is Lyndon's Riverview Sports. If I'm breaking a rule saying that Mods ,go ahead and delete it. I had to vent. |

Call Bowtech. File a formal written complaint. My guess is they won't want someone carrying their line of bows with that sort of business ethics.

This just goes to show that E-Bay can be a great way to buy things, but also risky when buying from certain people.

Contact Ebay as well, and if you paid by Paypal, contact them. Thats false advertising, and it is not the item you paid for. First contact Bowtech and get all the facts about the bow, have them fax or email you all the info on the bow; and contact Ebay and or Paypal from there; someway, you will get it fixed!

archer... sorry I've been busy tonight as my wife was finally getting a night out with some friends, and I had both my 4 1/2-year-old and seven-month-old by myself here all night.

I suspect this "Dealer" is a sudo and you're not going to get much satisfaction from BowTech. Let the buyer beware is especially true on Ebay. So you tried to save a dime and went the route and you got burned. At the first sign of trouble I'm sure you'd be going to the nearest BowTech dealer for help if the bow broke or had a problem. You should have gone there first. You wanted cheap.... you paid for it. You got what you paid for. He's not a bowtech dealer... he's a product mover.

My problem is that NO dealer ever carries Left Hand bows. They don't want to order one. I was at a dealer 30 miles away and asked if they would get a LH for me to shoot , and i'd probably buy it. he said NO. I wasn't trying to save $ , I was trying to get a LH bow. |

I had the same thing happen to me with a golf club. Ebay will make it right but they will make you jump thru some hoops.
1. File a Dispute Report 2. You'll have to take the bow to a local dealer and have them putin writing what's wrong with it. 3. Ebay will work withyou both parties to solve the problem. 4. Make sure you leave Negative Feedback on the seller... 5. You have to pay some kind of fee. $20.00 I think. (Can't remember all the details.) 6. The whole process took about 2 weeks.. I can't remember if they will suspend the seller account, I think they do once you file a Dispute Report. I kind of got screwed in the process because I told them it would take 60.00 to fix the golf club and that's all I got subtract the $20.00 fee so I end up with 40.00 and a skymark on the club. I would tell Ebay you want a full refund. Hope that helps... |

I will say your prospects of getting satisfaction are far better from a dealer that will order it than from a no name on Ebay. You screwed up... plain and simple. Don't be bashing BowTech dealers. And I'm sureNOT bashing Bowtech or any other dealer , just this one. |

This simply boils down to the seller giving incorrect information which has nothing to do with BowTech. I would contact the dealer, tell them you know it's not as advertised and ask them howthey're willingto help you out. |

I don't know the situation but this dealer is lieing. I spoke w/ BT yesterday and this bow was manufacturered in '06 , has an '06 sticker on the lower limb , '06 cams, etc. It was shipped to the dealer between jan. and june '07. That doesn't make it an '07. Ser # M13211-022 is an '06 bow. And I called the dealer, He refuses to help. |

it is guaranteed if you show he did not send you the listed item send them a letter from bt saying from the serial number it is a 06 not a 07

When I filed the camplaint w/ pay-pal, I included the ser #. and Bowtech's # so they could check w/ a single phone call.
If they(pay-pal) want a letter to the differences I'm sure I can get one. |

I feel bad for ya bud and I hope you get it worked out, but if you were dead set on buying thatmodel I'm sure that with a deposit, your local dealer would have been happy to get you the left handed model you need.
I canunderstand whythe localdealer wouldn't orderonefor you if all you could give him was a promise that you'd buy the bow if you liked the way it felt. He could have easily got stuck with a left handed bow that nobody wants. |

As a customer it really doesn't matter to me if I'm talking directly to the company or the dealer, (according to the rules I'm talking to one and the same).I'm paying for fun when it comes right down to it. Either I get it or I'm going somewhere else. Can't say for sure, but I don't think Darton will let you down. |

My mom just said if you paid for it by credit card call your credit card company, contest the charge, print out the auction and all your correspondence with the seller. They will send you a form asking the reason for the dispute, fill it out and enclose the papers that I just told you to print. Tell them seller refused to allow you to return it, and you should get your money. Don't mess with PayPal it will take forever. My mom said trust her she knows.

The shop I frequent has many lefty bows available. Sounds like you got a sub-par shop if they won't even order one for you. I don't have a ton of sympathy for you using e-bay to buy it, I just don't trust it, but at the same time, you still got mislead by the ad.

My friends are shop owners and they said that Bowtech specifically told them they COULD NOT sell those bows on Ebay otherwise they'd pull their contract. Now, I don't know if that just means new bows or previous year's bows as well. This might be the reason you got an '06 bow. [&:]
Definitely call or write Bowtech and let them know what's going on. If you can, print out that ad and send it along with the letter to Bowtech. You may be able to hit that guy where it hurts; no more Bowtech contract. |

i have been on both ends of a dispute in paypal they will do you right i once sold a xbox when the guy got it he told me it did not work i said ok i would send him his money abck the day i got it back well no i can get it fixed here cheaper if you willgive me halfmy money back i said nosp it back i will refund your money
paypal said since it wa damaged when he got it i had to refund it i said ok but he would not re ship it to me and he told me he took it a acomputer store andthey took it apart and couldsee where it was broke before he ever called me for a refund when he did not return it they wold not give im his money back so if you do get the chance to get your money back send the bow when they tell you to and rack and insure it |

I think eBay takes a bad rap on this. Yes, there are some bad apples on eBay, but there are just as many out in the "brick and mortar" shops. If you had bought this at the shop and stepped outside the door with the bow, you would be in the same boat. I think Bowtech is not to blame for this. Yes, they are responsible for who they pick for dealers, but you can't always spot the good from the bad. The only way I would blame Bowtech is if they do not take action to correct this (i.e. pull the dealership or some similar action).
