RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!
Yes, I have put TOO MUCH trust in the equipment as well. Trusting my entire wieght load to ONE screw in tree spike, at times, 25' up !! Not just screwin steps..........I trust my Cranford Ezy Climb steps as much or more than any hunting equipment I own. I believe in them that much. But all stands, sticks, etc. are attached by some means, usually a strap. Things can happen. We all need to wear a harness with safety line climbing up, down and in a tree. For the first 10-15 years I hunted from a stand I never even wore a simple safety belt while in a stand.[&:] |
RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!
So can I still climb up with only my feet, holding a loaded rifle in one hand and my bow with an arrow knocked in the other?
Man, you take all the fun out of this.:D:D |
RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!

RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!
Add this to the list...............
A Buddy of mine has a bad habit of leaving his stands up year round. Tree growth, weather, and time will can only make that a formula for getting hurt. [:@] |
RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!
Doesn't my prehensile tail count as a safety harness?:D:D:D Sorry, just monkeying with ya!
Good post. |
RE: How not to hang a stand.....ever!
One of the things I love about this forum is that people are not afraid to post the "this is how I was stupid, please don't do it" thread. We have all made those mistakes and sharing the lapse in judgement may just save someone's butt.
