Land or trips??? edit for clarity

I bought a house on 5 rural acres this past summer.3 acres of heavy woods and 2 acres of lawn. Well, there is a small pond full of fish on it as well. I can dove hunt, fish, and kill coyotes on this small patch of ground. I love it! I would love to own more acreage and intend to some day. I enjoy that small patch of ground so much I can't begin to imagine the feeling of owning 50-100 acres of deer hunting land.
I'm going on a mule deer trip this week.5 days in Big bend country. I would GLADLY trade that trip and any future opportunity to travel for even 25 acres of my own hunting grounds. For me after the health and happiness of my family, owning my own hunting grounds is my greatest desire.

I'd say land if it's large enough and has a good variety of game. Elk, Deer and turkey would be my choices.
Otherwise I'd take the trips and freedom. You can't take it with you.

I have to admit that I didn't read the replies, but....
Depends on how big the land is.
If I could have a couple hundred acres of nice wooded property, maybe a small stream on it, I would gladly give up trips for the rest of my life.
A smaller piece and my opinion would change.

To be honest, I own land, and often think about going the route that you have talked about. Yes, I use it for hunting, but I have other land that I also have permission to hunt and do not use it exclusivley. The taxeson the land is enough to makea grown man cry.
If I lived on the land, it maybe a different story though.
