Here is a pic of the buck I killed Saturday morning. It is my 4th buck in 3 years of bowhunting. Smaller than what I'd hoped for, and I'd passed on him before, but I had my reasons and I'm pretty happy with him. In a few days he will be mostly Polish sausage and steak. I'm tagged out on bucks and stress free now. I'll be going on a mulie hunt this weekend and then a couple of trips trying to tag out on does. Oh, and the ever present feral hogs.

This is my BILs second buck. It is smaller than his 1st. I don't have pics of it. As many of you know I've been wanting to hunt the area this buck came from. I went in there 3 times and saw more big deer than I have seen in5 years on my side of the lease. He got this one at about 120 yds with a 30/06. Some of you have said he must be doing something I'm not to kill big deer. I agree, he is hunting where they live, and doing it with a rifle.
On the way out Saturday AM with my deer I stopped and spoke to the landowner and secured the EXCLUSIVE rights to the 110 acres behind his house. No one has hunted there in 20 years. He made this an addition to the existing lease for me. There will be no additional fees.
My BIL also swears that I'll have equal access next year. I'll believe that when I see it although before next season I'll be doing some scouting in that bottom before archery season.

Tx, great work on tagging out this season, that is quite an accomplishment with archery equippment. Also congrats on the 110 acres behind the house. Are you going to let your BIL in there?

HELL NO! The landowner told me that it is for me to hunt and me only. I can't go against the rules now can I. I wouldn't want to let him if the choice were mine but then I'd be just like him wouldn't I? If he gets permission from the landowner and asks me about it I would allow it AFTER I get a buck. I can't stand a hypocrite and I don't want to be one. Now I don't intend to let my BIL know about my new deal and the landowner agreed not to spill the beans so hopefully I won't have to worry about it.

Nice, congrates.
I guess when it rains in Texas, it pours. It seems like I kill a deer every time you do. We got that STP, I mean, ESPN, I mean ESP going on or something..

Congrats on your season, Greg!
