I'm not sure about E. Central but I know here in Greene they are still rutting hard. Saw a buck mounting a doe this afternoon, and seen a couple this evening chasing hard. I have gotten a lot of bucks this past couple days on video. I been hunting with the camcorder now.

Saw 3 bucks together yesterday feeding. Seems they have done their deed.

I don't think it has started yet, at least not hear in the southern tier. I saw 5 deer up in the field behind my house this evening and they seam to be getting chased, so I think its just getting started

It happened in eastern NC last week....We killed 18, I saw bucks either looking for does or chasing does every day...

Here in Southwestern, Pennsylvania the rut has been minimal to say the least. They really haven't been chasing as much as usual. The rut occurs at different times in different parts. Even where I live, bucks may be rutting and chasing does and maybe 5 miles away they wont start until a week or two later. There's still plenty of time but Pennsylvania has that STUPID split season, so when the deer "heat up", you can hunt the "rut". I hunt WV also, so I can still bowhunt when the deer (hopefully) will be moving.

I made a very broad statement. I meant it seemed to be over in one of my spots. Hopefully not all. The one spot in quest. I havent seen any chasing activity in almost a week. Lots of lone does and groups just hanging out not being molested.
