How big of an area will a buck rub and stay in? I have a bunch of rubs in my back yard from a 6 point ( I saw him ) and he only seams to come around one a week or maybe longer to check on them. Is it taking him that long to make his rounds in the area that he is marking?

Depends on how much area he is roaming. 3 days to a week is about right.If he hooks up with a doe then it will be longer Im sure.

on average, what will they rome in?? I know there are allot of variables, hunting pressure,food, other bucks, just looking for an idea.

Some say 5 miles or more.But like you said there are alot of variables. Rubs I dont focus on as much as I focus on scraps.But during the rut I go where the does hang out.

I am just trying to figure out when he might be back. Gun season starts Saturday so I'm sure that will change everything too. Maybe a useless question this time of year.

I read recently in a hunting magazine that rutting buck roaming is around 1800-2000 acres which would be something in the ballpark of 3 square miles.
