Interesting here I am checking out the hunting forums and I come across a picture of a deer I shot. Then I realize that Bonzel22 is a hunting buddy of mine. Anyway Now the story, I knew the morning of Nov 6 was going to be a great hunt. It was calm and around 30 degrees. Well at 8 30 I saw a nice buck but he didn’t closer than 50 yards. At 9 20 a doe came by feeding and nine minutes later he came in nose on the ground grunting the whole time. He offered a 21 yard shot and I let my Bowtech eat. The shot was perfect though both lungs and the top of the heart. He kicked real hard and then proceeded to walk off. I was in disbelief. I have shot a number of deer with a bow and never had one just walk off. He walked 60-70 yards stopped, and was flicking his tale and I lost sight of him. I could see my bloody arrow in the ground but decided to wait 1.5 hours. I climbed down and followed the blood 20 yards and could smell the deer. I looked up and he was laying right where I lost sight of him. Unfortunately I did not get the weight of him but he was truly a huge bodied deer.

KCMO Cityboy, Platte falls has some nice deer. If I get around to it I will post a pic of a 140 8pt I shot out there a couple years ago. I recommend that you check out the Army corp land around smithville lake. The hunting can be very good if you are willing to walk or have access to a boat.
