First Archery Buck
#12
Well, I got this landowner preference tag (3rd season rifle) - cost me $400 - for a ranch near Guffy Colorado. On the way to the area where we intended to glass, this buck was standing there looking at us less than 100 yards from the ranch road. My buddy, who was rifle hunting, slowed down and I just slid out the passenger side as he stopped behind a pine tree. Then he continued on and I kept the tree between me and the buck as I approached to within 32 yards.
Drew back, leaned out around the tree, and let one go into the broadside buck. The Rage two blade expandable went in the tricep of his arm, through both lungs, and stuck in the off shoulder. The buck ran off with about 6" of arrow sticking out, but stopped after about 50 yards and stood still - wobbling. I walked back to the road - my buddy picked me up - and decided to just quietly leave. Came back about 45 minutes later and he was down right where I had left him standing.

Actually, all the credit for getting the photo to post goes to Mobow. He was kind enough to email me and offer to post it. My daughter won't be back home from graduate school until Friday. There sure are some great folks on this board . . . . . .
