Four down with Rocket Steelheads and all were pretty much double lung pass thru's..
That being said I also hit a buck that was "slightly" quartering to me square in the shoulder and did not recover him. I wonder now if a coc or some other design would have done a better job on solid bone..Guess I will never know.

Top shot is a G5 fixed blade. Bottom is a mechanical two blade Rocky Mountain Gator. Out of 6 deer shot with the Gators, I've never had onerun out of site. All died less than 75 yards. I switched back to a fixed for a while, but now I am sold on the 2 blade mechanicals. Just my choice as there are tons of deer killed every season with both styles. More important than style of broadhead iskeeping the blades sharp.

I also use the Rocket Steelhead 100 gr. They fly fast and true. Shot a 200 lb. buck through the neck and it came out right below the rib cage. Really did a great job of opening and leaving a blood trail.

I highly recomend fixed bladed broadheads. everone is shooting those rages, and ohh rage this and rage that, why arent they passing through deer??? with bows breaking 300 fps.... THEY SHOULD BE BLOWING THROUGH DEER!!!! but their bouncing off ribs and comming back out.

Ryan.

I've used Rocky Mountain Gator 2 Blades mechanicals along with fixed blades for the lastten years. I shot a doe with a NAP nitro head two weeks ago that did not pass thru. In light of that I pulled out a Gator and shot a big buck last Wed. that was a pass thru and pile up in 50 yards. Every deer I've shot with a Gator has been a complete pass thru. Also, keep in mind that a complete pass thru doesn't prohibitsuccesfully dispatching a deer. Obviously angle of shot has a lot to do with pass thru. If you are shooting a quartering away shot and hit the opposing shoulder bone, you more than likely won't have a pass thru shot. Ifyou hit the heart or both lungs, you'll have a dead deer.
With the proper shot placement, most any decent broadhead will be lethal.
