Default Shoot him or not?

Well i had a 2.5 year old buck that would score around 120 with a 4 inch drop time and a split G2. He was a 11 pointer but a very young deer with great potential. I passed him hoping that he is going to be a freak in a couple years. Would you guys of shot it or should i of??

Wow! Thats a tough one. Personally if he don't make books in my woods i don't shoot. Ithink i would let him go. The drop tine and split G2 would make my decision a tough one though because of his character! Hats off to you on passing on him!

You did the right thing. I don't shoot anything under 5.5 years unless it is a cull. If you shoot your young (above average) breeding stock, you will never end up with other monsters. I know it is hard to pass up but, overtime, you will end up with healthier, larger, wider animals.

2.5 years old he has to walk.... not only will he be a monster at 4.5 think of all the potential does he can breed.... nice decision....people who shoot 2.5 year old deer on a regular basis will not shoot many big deer in their life.... like this one,he sounds like a monster but he only went 120".... that is a punk compaired to what he will be at 4 or 5.5
