It is good practice IMO especially if you have set a goal of a certain score or higher. You can never see enough
bucks, you would be surprised how many people want to shoot a buck thinking its a P&Y buck (125")to only find out it is not after they killed him. If you want to bea serious trophy hunter you best be great at scoring with everything else it entails hunting trophys.

Lots of guys don't shoot many deer and are just looking for a little imput and a pat on the back from the brotherhood. They consider you a pal and are really just sharing their stories with you and other hunters.
If you don't want to venture a guess don't and just move to the next thread.

PS.. What do you think this guy will score. Tinescould be longer but he has great mass. I really wanted to ask anyway cause it's sorta cool how some people are way off and some hit it right on a dime. You don't have to answe Ice.

110"

Well I for one also enjoy the "what would this score" threads. I like to see the pictures regardles, and lets face it, people are proud of the deer they shoot and just want to show them off a little bit.

I have no idea what the deer in the picture scores but I went out and bought a seamstress tape today and measured a rack I had that I was surewas right about 115 maybe even a little better. The tape said it was 101.
It's no wonder I don't measure/score them because I always thought that 101 was fine deer.

He is a fine deer, and no less of a fine deer at 101 than he was when you thought he was 115. I know that all the videos and P&Y and B&C stuff get us wrapped up in numbers, but to me I know what a good buck is in my eyes. Whether his number is above or below what I thought he would score makes him no less of a good buck.

I have fun guessing scores, but try not to get too wrapped up in it.

i like these types of guessing games too.... but lets make a rule that the best guess should get a hat or something (broadheads) for the winner.... of course the poster has to furinish the gift.... perhaps everyone would get to liking the game a whole lot better...or just not read the post
personally i like just guessing..

Thats a good idea

I don't mind if they ask, and then post the real score later. So far, I've amazed myself at being so close. [8D]
