Western Ky.--- Friday__
This is a hunting reportfrom my brother who is hunting on private land that has not been pressured this year (except for this week). Slow start of the week with a few deer sightings each day. Not many mature does seen. Thursday they noticed a lot more scraping going on and after speaking with him this afternoon (after the morning hunt), the deer have been even more active scraping and rubbing. His buddy had a couple bucks walk under his stand this morning. Only one was chasing a doe. A nice 8 point walked under his stand at 9:30am. and was taken. My brother, because of a lack of does seen, set up a decoy and had an 8 point come running straight to it around 8:30am. I have not talked to him since. He did say that this year has been the worst year in the last 3 years for deer sightings (mature bucks and does); however, the variables, times, and conditions were different this year as opposed to previous years (ex. different week, weather, feild work on neighboring properties).
Good luck.

Morning----4pt 730 & 6pt 8 a.m. No chase just sniffing. 25 turkeys @9:00. Then all hell breaks loose and i got glimpses of all kinds of chasing going on. Most of it was in the creekbottom 150 yards down the hill. Probably 5 different bucks and I heard fighting twice. Went and moved a stand to the creekbotoom at noon.
Evening---Took my 6 year old out to sit in a power line cut in the blind. 25 turkeys at 4 pm and then saw a 110" 8 chasinga doe at 5pm.
P.S. I am kinda glad you didnt ask for the Thursday huntng report. I saw what i believe to be 12 different bucks throught the course of the day. I love the rut!

Ok Tony, I saw 2 Bucks one at approx. 3:00 and another at approx. 4:50. Second buck was a pretty little 6 or 8 pointer, maybe 2.5 yrs old. I've got a couple pics of him, came to within feet of my stand, I'll try to post those and the short story sometime this weekend too. Didn't get a good look at the first buck, he did look bigger than the second one though. Also saw one doe at approx 3:45-4ish (forgot to check the cell for time). She came to within about 35 yds but never offered a shot.
And in case you forgot, this was in Portage, WI.

PM update from Ridgeway SC. I was in the woods at 3:00 and did not see anything until 5:45 or so.
1 Large doe
1 yearling and 2 others I never saw, just heard.
While sitting in the dark waiting for them to leave another deer was coming from behind but to dark to tell what it was. Had to sit for an hour after dark for the walking to go away.
My buddy seen 4 does as well, all spread out after 4 or so.

I didn't get to hnt this evening, but my wife saw a small buck with his nose to the ground, dogging through an area that has a few resident does. I also found the first scrape of this year today not 15 yards from my bow stand.........too bad I wasn't in it when it was made![:@]
