Seriously, anything "angle" wise is possible with a mechanical broadhead. I'm not bashing them because I use them, but there's always that chance. On the doe I shot with a Rage 2 blade. She was "SLIGHTLY" quartering to, like almost broadside. I hit her almost mid mass, thinking it was a pure liver shot. After letting her sit a little bit, it turns out the broadhead changed angles and came out as if it was a quartering away shot. Go figure.

Somebody said it to me I don't remember whether it was here or afield but... an arrow can pierce the body cavity, bounce off of bone and do additional considerable damage. Also consider that since it was not a pass-thru, the deer could've fallen on the arrow, rolled around a bit adding to the carnage.

Far as the arrow dog-tracking in mid-flight, I'm not so sure. The wind might blow at 30mph gusts but our arrows fly hundreds of miles per hour.
