Thanks Fraley and it wasn't on purpose..I always strap in. But when something like that's happening. I just couldn't move. I was very aware of my unsecured state and every move was calculated. Still dumb, I know.

I would of done the same buddy, just a refresher.
Actually now that I think about it I did last week. I usually leave the strap for the tree on each stand but this particular one I took off the time before and forgot. So when I headed out to that stand didnt bring it with thinking it was still there but nope it was not. That was my all day hunt too last friday. I stayed in it for about 4 hours then moved to the other stand with one. Wife was not happy with me, yes I admitted to it. Helps keep me in check

A piebald buck would be cool! Good luck with him and be careful. You stood on the seat without being strapped in? You really wanted a look didn't you!

Hopefully you can get the same NW wind and hunt him again soon. Do you have a camera you can take with you just incase you do see him again and have time for a quick snapshot? Don't ruin your chance by taking a picture (scaring him or missing a shot opportunity), but that would be great so you could share it with all of us. We are pulling for you to get him though so we can see some better pics! Good luck...once in a lifetime buck in the midwest. I know they are pretty common up in NY and possibly PA, but I know there aren't many around in MI and probably not in OH either!
