I was never happy about it but I do like the steaks. I think it all has to do with how it is prepared. If some don't like the hamburger, then mix with regular beef hamburger. It seems to take the gamey taste away. Marinate overnight in your favorite sauces.

Any one have any ideas on how to get her to try it, and a way to cook it so it doesn't taste so "wild"?

I hear soaking the meat in milk takes the game taste out. I have never tried it before but know people who have. I just like the "wild" taste but my gf wont try it so I might have to try the milk solution some day. GL.

My wife will cook it and eat it, BUT I choose to cook it because I don't trust her in that she would most likely over cook it!

I do most of the cooking and she enjoys it. From Backstraps on the grill, homemade corned venison,to stew and plenty in between.

Most of the time they dislike deer meat because they probably
first ateground venison wich in itself hasa wilder flavor than venison steak andwhich is why theywon't even go for venisonsteak after eating the burger.

My wife and i both like deer steak, all the venison burger is all made into pepperoni which disguises thewild taste.

If they dont like it because of the gamey taste, try soaking it in vinegar before freezing.

Well I have her talked in to trying some backstrap, but i think she has it made up in her mind that she won't like it.

But my youngest daughter(4yrs) says "daddy is going to kill a deer and we goingto eat it all up, yummy"

I eat the absolute mess out of deer hamburger, steaks, and roast. My wife won't cook any of it (because she doesn't know how) and won't even touch anything but the deer roast...sometimes.

I'll eat it all up. It's tasty.

These women nowadays...
