I really don't think this is what the board is supposed to be used for. Looks like we lost 1 member (hoyt) to this garbage. Differences of opinions are what they are. It's not too difficult to debate your side of an issue without getting personal about it. Is it a testosterone thing or what? I didn't realize that posting this topic would lead to world war 3. Is this how it always is in here? What's the point of getting personal and wrapped up in bashing people? I don't get it. This is the last I'm commenting on this particular post because I'm starting to find myself getting pulled into the garbage. And for what it's worth wolfen your last post had some good points. It probably won't be worth it in the long run to fight with them. They will never go away and it will be constant headaches. I still disagree with your whole basis of your argument against me, but that part is true. Now it's a matter of weighing that against the thought of letting people like that think they've won and backing down from them. Anyway, sorry for all the turmoil. I was just looking for some advise in a tough situation.

Poor ole Titleist: All he did was ask a question about a problem he'd been having. Since then he's been called a Joner, whiner, DamnGolfer, troublemaker, accused of not knowing the English language..... etc etc etc. Lots of good hunting in that neck of the woods. I'm tired of this arguement. I'm going to find another place to hunt. Maybe the golf course. Lots of "birds" there. One parting shot. If you really want to become a friend to the farmer don't get him involved in your personnal wars. When the weather clears be ready to go help out, stop in, take him gifts or game or fish, fix a fence, show him you're not just using him for a month a year. Take the wife something. Let the wars die down and be happy with what you have. If you can't be... then move.

I think this board is hillarious. I see people constantly berated for not doing the absolutely most ethical thing, and yet now we have people coming out of the woodwork supporting slob hunters and beating up on someone who's trying to do the ethical thing. The undercurrent seems like the same rich vs. poor liberal crap. It has just become too hard to dig through the trash on this board to find the scraps of valuable information. Have a nice life.

Nobody here is supporting slob hunters! Do you know titleist? I dont. This poaching bit could very easily have been fabricated to make himself look like the hero and the others look like the goat. Maybe he's trying to convince himself that their poachers to justify in his own mind how he's screwing them out of a hunting spot.
The bottom line , nobody knows for sure except titleist! If everything he says is true then I apoligize to Mr titleist. If alot of what was said by myself and wolfen is true , then shame on Mr titleist! Either way , if only a little of what I've accused him of is true then at least we'll make him think a little bit about what he's doing.
Alot of you would feel pretty crappy if you found out that he was feeding us a bunch of crap to justify (in his own mind) his pushing out the other hunters and everyone encouraged him and gave him advice on how to screw the little guy.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
Theres two sides to every coin!

I had this happen to me. I was hunting a piece for quite some time and had a couple guys with money lease it out from under me. I think you need to go find another place to hunt. No matter what kind of guys they are they still have been hunting there for a long time. It will more than likely be more of a headache than its worth. Things will start to happen like wrecked or stolen stands, perfume poured around your stands etc.. If the landowner gets pissed he'll liable throw everyone out. Then you might see damage, like truck ruts on your expensive greens. Let it go, and find yourself a different place to hunt.

titleist, I see that wolfen has used a sledgehammer when a feather would have been adequate. You must forgive him as he gets quite passionate when it comes to hunting. If you do indeed own a 9 hole course in a small town then you are very likely just getting by. As for the problem that you have, well, unfortunately you are in a no win situation. I know it is very frustrating but you must consider your family and their best interests. It is a truly sorry state of affairs when well to do poachers and slobs are able to get away with this type of behavior. As others have posted it is up to the land owner to deal with these folks. Persisting in going head to head with these folks is only going to cause you hardship and heartburn. It is also very likely dangerous to continue this disagreement. People like this would very likely be more than willing to trash your place of business or cause you bodily harm. I know that hearing this makes your hair stand up and your neck swell, however, you must measure the risk versus benefit of continuing this arguement. As I mentioned before it really sucks that folks like this get away with this type of behavior but that I am afraid is a sign of the times. All that you can do is report the suspected poaching and hope that the law in your region is responsible and diligent. Good luck and watch your back.

I suppose we killed this topic and now with all the knowlegde Titleist gained from both sides, it is now up to him to make his decision and it will have no bearing on the rest of us and quite frankly, none of our business so with that, this nonbowhunting thread comes to an end.....I suppose I must play the spoiler..

titelist,

You have nothing but a lose-lose situation with these people. Even if you got a lease or bought the land, you would still be harrassed to no end by them.

My recommendation, find another piece of property to hunt. If these people are indeed poaching, report them to the Game Wardens and let them deal with the situation. I' m not sure I would be so bold as to inform them that I had turned them into the Game Wardens. You would just be buying more trouble with them for yourself. If the Wardens catch them in the act guess what, they lose hunting priviledges EVERYWHERE! THEN you can have the opportunity to lease the property. If they don' t catch them poaching, then you will still have a piece of property that you can hunt without having to share it with people that don' t want you there.

I agree theres two sides to every story so I won' t take sides but did have something like this happen to me last season. My club had a 200 acre track that the club had leased for 24 years. it was hard to hunt so a lot of members didn' t hunt it. I finally got quality buck regs voted in on it 4 years ago was just starting to see results killed a 130 class nine point year before last and saw a couple 140&150' s then last year anouther paper company bought it and their manager had someone who wanted some land in the county so he told the company that the land wasn' t leased and leased it to his friend right in the middle of bow season. THe new guys came in shooting everything they saw all that hard work down the drain. It broke my heart. It wouldn' t have been so bad if they hadn' t lied to get it
