This was in our paper today. I know its off subject, but I just thought it was amazing no one got killed.
This lady hit this deer in Mansfield PA in August of 2006. She was taking her daughter to school. She was sitting in the back seat. Good thing.

They got lucky. a couple of years ago a couple hours from me a lady did get killed by a deer. The deer tried to clear the car and ended coming through the windshield and his rack went into her skull and killed her. Her little boy was in the back seat. It was horrible.Felt really sorry for them.

If you reed the clipping it says an SUV hit the deer and thru it into her car. I would think that at any normal highway speed ( 55 ) it would be one hell of an impact. I have never hit a deer and hope to never do so. 2 years ago an retired gentalman was killed about 4 mile from my house when he hit a buck. The deer went right thru his windsheild of his pickup and killed him instanly. His wife, sitting on the pasanger side didnt get a scratch but had to see her husband die a horifull death right before her eyes. The rut is kicking in and the deer will be moving even more on everones road ways. Drive safe all.

tht is correct..she didnt have to be speeding. who drives 55mph anyway..limit is 65 here and u do
between 75-80 or u get run off the road...speed did not have to be a factor...a deer could jump
the center island of a highway and cause that kind of damage

I guess if the deer went airborne and hit the windshield, it makes sense. My mistake, I just scanned the story when I read it.:eek:

There was a man from the same town as me, got killed like that way a few years ago. He was meeting another vehicle who hit the deer coming toward him, and threw it up through his windshield, went in the front glass of his truck, and out the rear glass, and was lying in the bed of the truck, it was a terrible tragedy.
