This was in our paper today. I know its off subject, but I just thought it was amazing no one got killed.
This lady hit this deer in Mansfield PA in August of 2006. She was taking her daughter to school. She was sitting in the back seat. Good thing.

They got lucky. a couple of years ago a couple hours from me a lady did get killed by a deer. The deer tried to clear the car and ended coming through the windshield and his rack went into her skull and killed her. Her little boy was in the back seat. It was horrible.Felt really sorry for them.

If you reed the clipping it says an SUV hit the deer and thru it into her car. I would think that at any normal highway speed ( 55 ) it would be one hell of an impact. I have never hit a deer and hope to never do so. 2 years ago an retired gentalman was killed about 4 mile from my house when he hit a buck. The deer went right thru his windsheild of his pickup and killed him instanly. His wife, sitting on the pasanger side didnt get a scratch but had to see her husband die a horifull death right before her eyes. The rut is kicking in and the deer will be moving even more on everones road ways. Drive safe all.

tht is correct..she didnt have to be speeding. who drives 55mph anyway..limit is 65 here and u do
between 75-80 or u get run off the road...speed did not have to be a factor...a deer could jump
the center island of a highway and cause that kind of damage

I guess if the deer went airborne and hit the windshield, it makes sense. My mistake, I just scanned the story when I read it.:eek:

There was a man from the same town as me, got killed like that way a few years ago. He was meeting another vehicle who hit the deer coming toward him, and threw it up through his windshield, went in the front glass of his truck, and out the rear glass, and was lying in the bed of the truck, it was a terrible tragedy.

Thats nasty. Drive safe y'all....always adjust your driving according to the rd conditions. And I'm sorry to tell ya wildlife ain't the only thing that kills. Stupidity, cell phones, speed, fatigue and much more kills too.

Statistics show that most wrecks are caused by eating and driving then driving and talking on cell phones. Please be careful on the roads.

Last week up by Wausau Wi, a couple was killed when a deer went through their windshield. I hit one last week cause minor damage to bumper on my Neon, my dad hit one last week and cause $5,000.00 of damage to his 2006 Impala. Hes number 38 in line at the auto body shop for repairs. The other 37 cars are all deer collisons as well.....all from last week.:(Please becareful. Purchase a Hornet electronic deer whistle. Ithas saved my arse about 150 times since I installed it this past spring. It works. Great 65.00 investment.

I know all to well about hitting deer my tally for the year is three. Must just be my year. She is lucky to be alive but as for it being a SUV it looks like a car to me.

An SUV hit it first and thru it into her car, is what the artical says anyway.
3 deer in 1 year, wow, I would be driving a tractor trailer if I keep hitting that many LOL

3 deer in one year???thats it? I hit two and had one hit me all in a matter of a couple weeks :(. Since I started driving back in 94 I have hit a grand total of 33 deer. :(

My wife is an RN and she took care of an elderly lady a few years ago that got tore upon her arm and upper chest area. The elderly couple were on their way home and hit a deer that came through the windsheild and landed in their laps, it was knocked out from the impact. Unable to get out from under before it came to they were kicked and scraped repeatedly. The ladies skin from her shoulder almost to her rist was basically torn off.
