I have never, but ill agree with farmctry. When one of my kids take their first, ill most likely get misty eyed.

In 1992 my 62 year old grandfather took his first deer with a bow. I did get misty eyed.

Took me 4 years to get my first deer. I had to admit that I had one of those real deep emotionalmoments. Didn't cry tough but I was close.
Didn't even see a deer until year 3.

I've cried a number of times while deer hunting, the most memorable is documented in an article titled "Closure" published in rub lines magazine in 2001.
Long story short:
I was at the tail end of a three year buck drought with gun hunting, and I was very depressed about my hunting situation.I had made up my mind to quit hunting with my dad and brothers, so on that day, I decided to go out with my dad, knowing it would possibly be our last hunt together. It was late in the season, a beautiful early winter day, 40's, sunshine, melting snow.
We had some pretty lame two man still hunts worked out, I was just going through the motions, ended up nailing an 8 pointer that came through out of the blue, nothing to do with our strategy.
I cried a lot over that one. It did turn out to be our last hunt togheter, dad died the following spring. I still get choked up over it.

I got pretty upset over a miss last year, but I've never cried over hitting one. My front sight was loose and I missed a GIANT 8-pointer at 7-yards, from the ground, with him broadside and looking away.
Kinda got choked up typing this.....
