TICKS TICKS TICKS
#1
Well I started butchering my bucks lastnight. Guys be careful!!!! This buck was covered in ticks, very few wood ticks but hundreds and hundreds of deer ticks. Im going to recomend that if anyone else runs into the same thing, make sure you get a check over, and keep an eye out for any unusal marks on your body that may indicate a deer tick bite, then get checked out immediately, lymes is noit something you should ignore.

Hey Wis_bow
The buck I shot 2 weeks ago had with no exaggeration about 150 ticks on him. I was amazed at how many there were. You are not kidding about that lymes being a real concern, my son was just diagnosed with it last week. Be careful.

Ticks are always a problem here in upstate NY. When I get a deer I always hang it and skin it in the garage the second I get home. Then I bag the skin and tie it up tight and put it outside ( i cut up my own deer ) I made that mistake once and had a tick crawling on my neck that night and my garage floor was covered in ticks. Not anymore, hang it, skin it, bag it, now I havnt had any more problems, knock on wood. I did end up with a tick on me just from walking around this year. Yes you are right all be carefull. Good luck
