Show off your PA buck
#1
Guys from PA please post your bucks here for 2007. I would like to show a few people what the AR have done for PA. Please a note under your buck about the regs. If you like them or not, be honest .
BTW it has been great to watch you guys this year, truly cool!!!

Gary, last time I saw my PA buck for this year he was hauling arse after a doe, so I can't show him to you...yet.
However, I have seen at least 4 deer around 130" and the one I saw the other evening may go 140". ARs are a beautiful thing, and I've been for them from the start.

I'm going first, b/c I don't want to be the poor schlep who's left posting his runtbuck pictures after Matt/PA and KIDD post theirs.
...and yeah, I'm pretty happy with Antler Restrictions. I just wish they were tightened down a bit more, universalized statewide.
Sad really... we're sitting in some of the finest whitetail habitat in the country, and we shoot every deer before it ever even has a chance to come close to realizing it's growth potential. We're still doing it, but now we're just shooting them at 2.5 instead of 1.5. Progress is progress though.

Wow...PA's certainly been cranking out some nice bucks this fall...
.
Seems like in all the posts showing nice PA bucks, AR's are given credit for producing these deer by alot of out-of-state hunters. Honestly, are AR's the main reason for this? Is the age structure of your deer herd that much better than it was prior to the AR era? I mean PA has been producingmonster deer for years...well before AR's came onto the scene.Couldit be that AR's have just focused more attetion on to the state's deer herd than in the past and more trophy class bucks are being brought to the surface now than there was 10 years ago (thanks in part to sites such as this)?
I wish we could improve our age structure here in NY. Like PA, we produce some stud B&C bucks every year...butour deer have SO much more potential than most people realize.

Still dont know how to post pics like everyone else, but heres a couple links. I do like what PA has done. I have shot 3 of my biggest PA bucks in the last 3 years, and yes each year has gotten bigger. From one PA hunter to a next, thanks for practicing this management, I think it is obvious it is working.

No buck on the ground for me yet....I'm about 630 miles away from my hunting spot (600 from home), but here is the guy I would love to get a chance at over Christmas break!
