i've seen this deer four or five times in a three year period. very elusive. i'd love to take him.

Welli have 2 good bucks for sure shooters. 1 is a mainfarme 10, tall, thick about a 4 year old. But the main deer i am after is a main frame 8 dark horns, dark body, about 17 inch inside. Real thick and pretty tall. He is a real old buck probly 7 or 8 for real. He will probly field dress 200#

Its not so much the ones Im after year to year, but the ones I have missed opportunity on in the past that haunt me!

I had one last year that stuck in my mind. I called him "Old Twinkletoes"...BIG bodied deer (guessing 200 lbs+ with a bit of sag in his back, so pretty mature) with a heavy, widerack (only 6 points, I think, but very heavy), and completely silent both times I saw him last year in GW National Forest. Both times, I heard the doe he waswith and never heard him. Not sure if he's still in the woods this year, as I haven't seen him and don't hang trail cams. But I'm hoping!

Two years ago I had a massive drop tine buck at about 15 yards with a little branch in the way. I was at full draw and I didn't try to stop him and I just froze thinking I would hit the branch. I still kick myself for not doing anything but watching him walk right on by so close. I replay it in my mind and I am pretty sure I could have had a great shot but oth well!
