Does anyone have an idea of when the rut will begin in central Alabama this season? I'm sure it's usaully in January but around what week.

Wow, thats a late rut. Here in Texas, the bucks are back to a feeding cycle by late Dec.. In Texas, we are about to hit the rut. It should be hot during Nov..

In central Georgia, Rut typically really starts peaking around the first or second week in November. I can't imagine it would be that much later in Alabama. If you're stuck and can't determine it, take a look at http://whitetail.versus.com and look at the "rut report"... it seems to be fairly accurate for at least my region of Georgia.

I hunt near Montgomery - and our rut does not start until Jan. 15th sometimes closer to the 25th. depending on the weather.
