Vabowman, I would call the local game warden and ask. I think you will find that you can use your bow, but have to follow the gun restrictions as far as the game taken.

I am just north of you and hunt in King William County. I will bow hunt till black powder season starts on Nov. 3. Then once regular gun season starts I switch back and forth between the bow and smokepole for the remaining season.

Look your county up in the 07 - 08 hunting regs book and check what numbers you have next to it. On page 23, 24, 25 in the book it has listed what each numbers definition is.

ORIGINAL: Vabowman

Big Game Hunter Fred Bear remembers the moment clearly. It was 1933, the first day of the Michigan deer hunting season, and he was deep in the wilds of the Porcupine Mountains. "I crept out onto a creek bank," he recalls, "and about 100 yards upstream stood a deer. I raised my rifle and shot it. That was it; the season was just an hour old, and I already had my limit. Right there I decided to give up gun hunting. It was too darned easy."
Enough said! Thats kind of why i made the switch from compound to recurve, it sure does up the challenge a bit! Either way you look at it were out there bow hunting and loving every bit of it! Thanks a millionFred!!!

VAbowman, I highlighted a few things from the VA regs that I think help you.

Muzzleloading shotguns, muzzleloading rifles or archery tackle may be used to hunt during the firearms seasons where not prohibited

When hunting any game species during the firearms deer season, every hunter or person accompanying a hunter shall wear a blaze orange

Blaze orange is not required during the muzzleloading deer season(s)

Hunters hunting with archery tackle during an open firearms deer season, in areas where the discharge of firearms is prohibited by state law or local ordinance, are exempt from the blaze orange requirement.

If hunting with archery tackle or muzzleloading rifle during the firearms deer season you do not need an archery, crossbow or muzzleloading license.
