when you see a wounded animal you take him, I dont care if he is small you take him out like a responcible hunter.

Hes got a scratch on his back and you think the guy should kill it. Jim, Jim, Jim. You need to get a grip on something besides your chicken.

I did that to a doe last year. Exactly what that looks like...then I saw her two weeks later with a healed scratch and trying to advoid the buck chasing her.

This is starting to get to me. Why do people think that b/c a deer is wounded it will die???? Deer heal just like we do except they don't go to the hosp. for care. Deer will eat certain foods when they are injured too. They can get better. I had a guy bring me his doe in late sept that he shot during archery season. Judging by the lookof the hind leg it had been broken. It looked strange...... but it had healed. It appeared that the bone had a bulge all around it so I would figure that b/c the leg wasn't immobilized it had a hard time setting in the correct spot. But it healed on its own. We are not GOD's, we are hunters.
The deer might have less chance of survival but its not dead. Unless it looks like the deer is suffering I let'em walk. And remember suffering is a relative term.
