I was walking out of the field yesterday with tall grass on my right, the tree line on my left. A Buck comes running out of trees about 50 yards ahead of me. It was out of my range and didn't provide a good shot angle andI didn't have my Bow ready for any shot that might present it's self. AllI could think of doing was freezing and waiting, hoping he would turn or start eating andI could slip closer, there was no cover to use. As it turns out he hadspotted me and the same timeI spotted him and we stared at each other till he stomped his hoof twice and jumped into the high grass. My question being how to handle this situation in the future, before and after? I haven't hunting in about 10 years and this is my first year for Archery.

I just keep walking and pretend that I don't see the deer. Just DON'T follow it, or make it look like you are. If the deer thinks you are pursuing it, it will be very hesitant to return to that spot.
