im looking at buying a few acres to hunt on. what are the steps for success,i have never bought any ground before. do i need asurvey, lawyers to draw it up, apprasials?

first you need to go to a bank (i suggest farm credit) and get your financing in line to see what you can do.

Not sure what you are asking.....but ANYTHING to do with realestate has to be in WRITING!!!! To be legal!

You need to check to see if the land has any leans on it. Check for "right of ways" to get to the land.

once you have the money ready, and you get an accepted offer, the next thing to do would be to get it surveyed and appraised.other than that your realtor and bank will take care of it. PAY THE EXTRA $$ FOR TITLE INSURANCE!!!. hire a lawyer for yourself, it's worth the money for the piece of mind.

i have the money, i have hired a lawyer, and have surveyor lined up. do i need title insurance if i have it surveyed? what exactly is a trust? I mean if i set it up as a trust what are the advantages?
