how big of a tree can put my stand on
#1
i am thinking of moving my stand it is a 12 foot ladder stand made by ameristep got it from walmart
the tree that i am looking at putting it on is real big i would say it would take two people just to reach around it
can a put my stand on it i am worried that the bar with teeth that graps the tree wont touch all of it is that a problem or do i need to look for a smaller tree it say on the box that it must be at least 9 inches round but does not give a max diameter

it think the straps are long enough if not a good reason to replace them since there cheap straps
as for the bite i am not sure i think it could be on a bigger tree then i am on now some of the outer edge does not touch but the middle does

I have the same stand, purchased from Wal Mart. I put mine in a large tree that all the teeth got bite in to. I used a longer ratchet strap in order to geet around the tree without any problems. I have one strap around the tree at the seat level and another about half way up the ladder where the ladder bar attaches. No problems with mine.
