ORIGINAL: tsoc I use one pin set at 30 yards.I have done this for many years.I am comfortable with knowing where to hold at different distances.I like my sight picture to be open and uncluttered> |
RE: Do any of you use only 1 pin?
One pin adjustable which I have shot for years. I carry a good rangefinder and range the brush and trees around me. Yes over the past years there have been a couple of times that I wished I had a 30 or even a 40 for a shot at a buck which didnt come any closer but all in all I have taken a lot more deer by my way then I ever could have using multiple pins.

RE: Do any of you use only 1 pin?
One ping. One ping only, Vasily. Oh, sorry....I mean pin. Yes. I hunt only one pin, but never shoot very far (30 yards or less). They come close or they walk.

RE: Do any of you use only 1 pin?
I have my first pin sighted in for 30 yards and it hits about 1.5" high at 20 yards. Most of my shots are between 20 and 30 yards so this works best for me. I also have40 yard and 50 yard pins but don't use them for hunting as I hunt mostly thickets, shooting 30 yards max but mostly 20.

RE: Do any of you use only 1 pin?
I shoot one pin with my PSE X Force, good out to 30 yds. This bow is very fast, at a short 26" draw I was clocked at 309 fps!!!!!! Flat out to 30 yds is plenty for me!!
