Well we all know that things are going to be heating up real soon in the next few weeks. So who’s got the time off planned to spend in the woods?

From Oct 27th thru Nov 11th, I will have 11 FULL days to spend in the woods, while working only 5 over that time period.
I figured most (if not all) of those days will be dark to darks. Maybe not from a single stand all day, but I certainly will be spending as much time in the tree as I can.

good luck rybo...looking forward to seein another PA brute...

hope the weather cooperates. im looking forward to spending a bit more time in the tree...maybe doe hunt here at school a bit..but mainly just enjoying the woods and maybe getting pics of some bucks and scouting for next year. no reason to wait till next year to find out my spots are duds...

glad i tagged mine though...planning to move not this coming weekend, but the weekend after...if i was still buck hunting, id be juggling hard..trying to pack my room away, helping move, helping unpack...so it couldnt have came at a better time for me really.

would like to take a doe up here with the bow though. get another bowkill under the belt and more meat in the freezer. dad said hes gunna take it easy on the buck meat...but if i know him he will eat it every day lol. id like to get atleast 1 more in the freezer. just gotta see what time brings me...might even head out today..i havent decided yet..

Little bit different...

I'll be hunting thurs, fri and sat in PA (this week)......then likely not until Nov. 3 (here). I might hunt a day or two the week of the 5th.....then I probably won't hunt again until the 16th (when Rob/PA's down here). From that point on, though.....I'll take a day or two here and there when the weather and the wind looks right. I'll also hunt thurs, fri and sat of Thanksgiving. From there.....I really hope I'm done. I hope to get a good buck from these woods....and if I do....I'll be out there, yet, taking photos.

If I don't (Take one of the bucks I'm after), it's still been an interesting and successful season.

I have a month of vacation time each year, so I make sure to set aside some for each season that I hunt other than early archery. I take the entire week of Christmas off, and a few scattered days around the first day of the others depending on how I do.

Now that I have one deer down I'll won't take any more time off besides what I have already scheduled. I'll be going to SW Texas to hunt mule deer for 5 days over Thanksgiving and I have 11 days off over Christmas. Other than that its just going to be weekends.

I have 11/3 to 11/11 to hunt, took that Mon-Fri off work. I'll be hunting Saturday to Monday in New York at my buddy Dan's place, then wewill roadtrip down to my place in PA and hunt till Friday. Then back up to his place for Sat/Sun. That's the plan now, but if there is a lot of activity in NY we might be hesitant to head down to PA, and vice versa. We will hunt all day during light, and plan on working on my cabin after dark each night we are in PA hopefully completing the interior and bunk beds I have yet to build.

I also have quite a bit of time off after that week, but I think I'm gonna save some for late season and during firearms seasons. I'm also in the woods every weekend as well.
