Default any sings of the pre-rut?

just wondering if anyone has seen any early signs of the pre rut yet?
yesterday i had 2 baskets tie up after crossing each others path yesterday, one was running with 3 does and the other was all by himself, they tied up about 30 yards from me for about 10 mins, so i was wondering if anyone has seen any other signs?

Here in Texas, its not far off. The buck I shot Sat. was starting to show signs. His tarsal glands were just starting to get nasty. His neck was starting to swell. And bucks were moving around all more than ive seen yet this year. Id say another two weeks and it will be getting good.

I have seen some of the smaller buck here in Western NY tangle for the last two weeks, but all playful. Nothing very aggresive.

Seeing some scrapes, saw two nice 8-pointers still hanging around together eating apples. They haven't broken up yet but it's getting realy close!

Well I am hoping that buck activity picks up by this weekend. I am taking next week off to bowhunt. The rifle season starts Nov 3 in MN this year.

I did a little soft rattling sat morning and within 5 minutes had a smal 1.5 fork buck come in to see what was going on. Still about a week or so early, things will pick up pretty soon especially if we get a cold snap, cough, cough[:@]
