Default SO MAD!!!!!!!

The ethics of people and some in the hunting community are just out the window, this morning was one of the most maddening I have ever had in the woods. I hunt a property of people that I know, just aquaintinces, but we get along good.I give them gifts throughout the year and help with chores on occasion. My uncle leases the cropland from them and does all the planting. SoI am leaving the stand this morning and notice that there are 4 wheeler tracks all over in alfalfa fields and even through unpicked bean fields. Very strange I thought. Then a hear a vehicle coming, driving back through a very muddy field road, so muddy I had chose to not tear it up and just make a little longer walk this morning, but this guy is just mudding and rutting it up. The truck stops and 2 guys and 2 kids (12 years old maybe) get out.

The first guy says, "What are you doing here?"Instantly rude and obnoxious. I tell him I have permission to bowhunt here, he says "well we lease this property for the gun season"(which starts Nov. 3) I say ok thats fine, although I am kind of shocked that after many years the word "lease" has now entered my vocablulary. He says "i dont think you should be out here"He acts like he owns the place! Talkling down to me with his group standing behind him.

So I am now mad. I told himI have permission to hunt here and unless I hear otherwise I will continue to hunt hear and guess what, I will even be hunting here during your gun season. He says " I dont think so, and so you know, there will be four wheelers all over this place, and they will be disturbing you all day in your stand."I tell him, well dont worry about me because I walk back so there is less disturbance to the deer and I also choose not to drive through alfalfa fields and unpicked bean fields. He has no response to this, other than a chuckle. So then after he grumbles a while he has theguts to say, "hey, where are the property lines out here,I dont see any fences" I said I know where they are, I've hunted here long enough that I dont need fences. I said maybe before you paid money and drove all over this place with your wheelers and wrecked fields and field roads you should have understood the property lines.

I then walked away, called my uncle and told him of the destruction to his fields and now unfortunately, I am going to have to call the landowner and find out what is up. If I am done hunting there so be it. I have been very fortunate to never have to pay to hunt like so many others do, but perhaps that day is here. I just cannot believe the ethics and attitudes of some people and to act like that in front of their kids. What a great example to set, and what a crap day hunting.

Yea it sucks. last year i had just got back to the house and was standing on the deck looking across my neighbors field as 4 does are running across it i see a truck stop in the middle of the hiway and SHOOT at them. needless to say it didn't take long for me to saddle up and get the powerstroke running. Oh yea did i mention i'm best friends with the game warden and have her number on speed dial. He He He. aftre they lost their guns and liscense she gave them some nice fines to go along with it.

But no matter where you go you are gonna have idiots. there is one born every second of the day.

What a jerk! I know exactly the type of people you speak of. I'm sure the landowner would very much appreciate a call from you explaining that is property is being torn to pieces. Thats just down right disrespectful in my opinion. Good luck!

Get pics of the rutting they did to the roads, pics of the crops that they ran down. Get tag numbers to identify the mooks. Have dad fill out a bill estimating the money amount of beans they destroyed,no matter how trivial he may deem it to be, and have the land-owner estimate how many tons of blue-chip he'll have to order in andhave spreadout to make the roads useable to anAVERAGE vehicle. Include prices formaterials, delivery of the rock, and labor to spread it out.Have the landownersubmitthe road repair estimatesto the Sheriff, and to the mooks responsible. Have dad do the same with the crop damage estimate. Give them a couple of months to settle, and if they dont, have dad takeit to court. Hopefully the land owner will do the same. I honestly can'tblame the land owner for trying to leasegun hunting rights and make a buck, but there sure in the hell are a lot better clientsout there.Maybe even find out if you and a few buddies could pick up the lease from these slobs.Owner mightcut you a break for giving a damn about his property. Just my 2 cents.
