Another PA Buck Goes Down!

Another PA Buck Goes Down!
Well, I'm standing in line to pick up dinner and I get the call from my buddy Karl. He's all out of breath saying he just shot a good buck. I was a little apprehensive because we always break each other's stones and he tries to pull one over on me, but I could tell this was for real. He said he made the shot just before dark and didn't see the hit, but if he hit where he held it was a good hit. I told him to back out and I'd call him after dinner. I finished eating and headed home and changed clothes. I called him and he said that after the shot he heard the buck busting through some brush for a few seconds and then nothing. When I got to his house we headed to the spot and quickly found the arrow covered on solid bright red blood. There was good spray at the point of impact and I began following the blood. After about 10 yards of following blood Karl said, "there he is." Sure enough off to our left the buck lay and hadn't gone more than 20 yards. Since he changed direction from where Karl saw him leaving through the thick brush he lost sight of him. Karl had made a perfect 20 yard heart shot on the buck which is a nice PA 9 point.
Here are the pics.

RE: Another PA Buck Goes Down!
Bryan, that's a real nice PA whitetail right there. Big congrats to your bud. Definitely a deer to be proud of. Smart move backing out and erring on the side of caution. Worst case scenario: You wind up like me, bringing home a deer 12 hours later that's stiffer than a 2x4. LOL

RE: Another PA Buck Goes Down!
I was wearing shorts 2 Saturdays' ago when I helped my buddy track a doe.
If it's this warm next year I'm going to buy camo colored body paint so I can wear
shorts to hunt in.
Congrats to your friend. Another nice PA buck.
AR is working well.
