I'd wait until I saw him leave to go into town then I'd do what I wanted to do.

Actually, here in NY they will talk to the land owner for you, but if he says no, that is it. Grasshopper13, you are certainly right. Until I see the deer, I don't know for sure where I hit, but she was only 20 yards away and I saw the hit. A little high in the vitals, but certainly didn't look too high. Like I said, I recovered the arrow right behind where she stood and blood all over it. I have hunted for over 30 years and hate to think about a creature suffering. I know these things happen, but each time a hunt goes bad it makes me sick.
