Ben, in my heart of hearts I believe he's alive too. I hit an buck a couple years ago similiar, I saw him two weeks later and with my Snypers I wouldn't have believed it. The hole when he ran away was amazing....I let him lay 8 hours when we jumped him, and then two weeks later I saw him push a doe.
