Hey Matt, this is the first General I've seen. Since moving to the outback of upstate NY I'm out of touch. What have they got going on there with that cable guard and all that other junk. That's not a string suppressor I hope?????? What's the deal with the little wheely thingy... cable clearance additional space or what?

Hi Dave,
Its a roller guard, gone are the cable slides and cable rods. That IS a suppressor you see built into the roller guard but if you don't care for it for any reason the rod is held in place by 2 set screws and can be taken off completely.
(Same with the Marquis) You can then just go to conventional string silencers if you so choose but it works very well and has a different stopper design than any current suppressor. It has a deep notch with offset grooves that actually catch and slow the string down moreso than just whapping into it and bouncing off.

Dang it... I knew I shouldn't buy a Guardian their first year out. Now they have the new and improved model and I haven't even killed anything with the Guardian. Will they give me a trade in.[&:][8D] LOL I guess it's a good thing they did away with those rinky dink string silencers they had on the Guardian. I don't know anyone that had them hold up. We've all gone to catwhiskers and the like.
