Would you hit balls all year to play just 18 holes?

My wife and I were talking about different states and their bag limits, yesterday....(she assumed they were all similar). I told her some places only allowed the archers to take one animal.
She said...."that's like practicing golf all year to play one round".
I'm just not sure I would deer hunt (if that were the case, here). I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it......not hardly. I'm giving you guys kudos who can keep your interest up in those states. I just don't think I could.
Do you ever wish it were different?

I'd still do it in a heartbeat. In fact, if hunting were banned tomorrow, I'd still be up in a treestand with a camera. I just love being out there, even if I don't see anything.

I'll be honest I don't shoot my bow all year round.
I'd still hunt if I could only shoot one. That's the way it was when I started hunting. To get a doe permit(party permit) back then you needed 4-5 guys and only one could take a doe.

Of course I / we think it would be more although I have no problem practicing all year, dreaming, shooting, preparing food plots, spending money all for that ONE chance at a memorable experience. I couldn't do it any less. I do enjoy the shooting part but it comes secondary to the whole experience. I've been at it long enough to know I'm in love with bowhunting and it's part of who I am regardless of how many deer I actually get to kill anymore.
I could apply for many doe tags but my particular area doesn't need doe taken. I was more than honored to hunt with Rick James and take a big nanny. She was my first one since before year 2000. Don't forget last year, after tagging my buck with my only deer tag, Kurt and I still went out with nothing but cameras to sit in the trees. I can't get enough but I don't need to tag one to enjoy it, just being there is fantastic. Don't get me wrong, I'm there to take a buck, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if I didn't as well. If I don't, it's of my own accord. I've passed legal bucks already this year, I ask myself, do I spend all this time and money to let them walk by? My answer is this, YES.....until!

I understand it's not about the killing.....and I agree. BUT.....it's also a "part" of the overall hunting experience (the kill is).
The filming part is a good reply. I'd do that, happily.

I wish I had your herd ratio, here, Rob. I'd love to be more passive and non-intrusive. I'd love to be able tow sit back and watch them like I did, last year.
I miss that.

Thank the Lord we live in NC...With our high populations, it's hard to imagine only killing 1-2 deer a year....I sure enjoy being in the outdoors and just watching the day unfold while quietly taking it all in...I also love cooking I really get a kick out of making a big meal and having folks sit down and enjoying the fruits of my labor...
For the past several years, I've usually taken 4-5 does and restricted myself to one buck only...What I don't really understand is that even here in NC with our out of wack doe/buck population, some guys continue to take more bucks than does, then ask "Where did all the bucks go????"
