I wouldn't, but that's my opinion and I'd never push it on anyone. I know there are some big bucks in the woods I hunt, and 2 or 3 or 4 years down the road, that button might be as big as any of them. I've hunted these woods for over a dozen years now, so the big trophy I shoot this year very well could be the button I passed up 3 or 4 years ago.

Congrats to your friend for getting his deer.

If you want to shoot a BB than feel free especially if it has some significance to you like a first bow deer or something. I would not knowingly shoot onebut I guess I might/would/maybe shoot a fork or a six so I guess hipocracy is all over my shirt.
I like to shoot deer and hunt mostly public land so sightings are not a sure thing never mind shooting opportunities. I do admire those who can practice QDM but I don't think itcould ever work without some sort of antler restrcitions on public land. Treestands are like fruit here....

As stated above, I have killed a button buck, but I certainly try to avoid shooting them if I can. They do taste good though! Trophies and choices on whether to shoot or not are in the eye of the beholder!

I dont take them, but i agree with this statement.

In my eyes, if that's what you want to take, take it. A trophy is what you see worthy in your eyes, not everyone else's. Deer are tough to kill with a bow no matter what. Tell your friend congratulations.

I just passed on a button buck not more than 1 1/2 ago. My first archery deer was a button buck. I don't want to shoot them either, but it's your choice.

You guys don't know how good it is to hear a crowd of people tell others to "hunt your hunt, not mine." It's great to see a group that falls somewhere between "If it's brown it's down" and "If isn't P&Y it shouldn't die."

We all hunt different things for different reasons. I just want thank you all for walking in the hunter's boots and not criticizing the choices he makes.
