What type of vitals were you aiming at? You mentioned you were 30ft up the tree and the deer was 3 yards out.

i was aiming at whatever was visible. from that high up in the tree and that close to the base the only shot i had was a straight down one....i hit her heart with the last shot when she was laying on the ground.

Honeoye NY...near Canadaguia. Lots of state land...most of the private land around here is hunted more than the state land....cause everyone think the state land is over hunted...but ive found nothing but deer and more deer in a couple of nice areas.

We went to another state land area right down the road from where i shot this one. My buddy shot a doe about the same size as mine...Entered high and exited low entering and schredding the heart...she ran maybe 75 yards and dropped...nice easy blood trail to follow. Will post picture soon.

Hunting down around Honeoye eh? A couple of my buddies hunt down there and take some decent buck's I hunt in Wayland and pass through that are on the way down, My wife and I hike High Tor/Honeoye, Harriet Hollister all the time there are a crazy amount of acorns on the ground down there this year, whites' and reds, the deer and turks have been pounding them hardcore.

Well I go to FLCC and am on the FLCC computer right now =). Small world huh? anyways...no bucks yet...my buddy shot a doe on public land outta the same stand i shot mine about 2 weeks back. Opening day of shotgun is coming and its going to be a doozer thats for shure.
