RE: Opening Day Michigan Buck
I had the oppurtunity to do a lot of pre-season scouting over this cornfield. On an edge, there is a large tree that is very easy to climb. During the summer I would climb about 4 feet up with the video camera and tower over it spotting deer. It was amazing to see them so natural inside the corn.
I found they funneled to a corner of the field and exited their for night-time feeding. I assumed they would enter there too and return to their bedding areas.
One thing I found that I couldn't see from the scouting tree was the the deer would follow the edge of this corn field is that the deer would follow it to the corner no matter where they were bedding. I would get deer coming to this treestand from all the way across the field.
Sure enough opening morning it worked out, and the deer filled through my corner. I seen 10 deer in a little over an hour. Two bucks, 3 Mothers, 5 Fawns. Great sit, awesome hunt.
Anymore questions, just ask!! Good luck!
