I cant believe that there would even be a thought not to look for the deer because of spooking other deer. You wouded it now its your job to find it.

If you don't plan to exhaust every possibility to find a deer then don't take the shot! EDIT: I really hope this was a rhetorical question!

You turn the woods inside out if you have a hit deer. You exhaust any and all options. It doesn't matter if it is a monster a spiker or a doe.
