Nice buck! I've always hunted late season but this year in Minnesota where i hunt they only have one tag available in my area. Not sure yet if i'm going to wait itout for a booker or if i'm going to meat hunt yet.

I love hunting the nastiest coldest days in the late season. The ones that i know the deer are going to be hunkered down in the pines. This is when i get down out of the stand and put the sneak on 'em!!!
I have harveted three does with this tactic. It is challenging and extremely fun.
The late season here in Ohio runs from the end of Muzzleloader season(Dec. 31) through Feb. 4th.

I bowhunt the whole sseason, with the exception of when I bring my son. He has a bow but he is not quite ready to bowhunt. He can barley pull on the youth bow he has

Late season here in Minnesota can be well below zero at times! I've bow hunted when it was -30 below a few times!

MS bow season actually runs all the way until the end of Jan. and even though I live and hunt in TN I usually take advantage of the late season, mainly because I just like being out there hunting. However I got the opportunity to hunt in West Point, MS last year the day after New Years and I saw 2 bucks one was a 6 point that would have easily went Pope and Young and the other a 110 class 8 point which I shot. The out of stage bow tag is only 75 dollars so I plan to buy one every year. Yeah I would hunt the food sources however the large 6 I saw last year was chasing does. Just a little background to why I hunt the last season.

Well we don't get much snow, but I do love to bowhunt the late season.TENSAS FEDERAL WILDELIFE REFUGE to be specific, the last gun hunts are around the 10Th of december and I like to hunt from Christmass till the season closes the deer settle down and believe it or not there are still some rutting activity going on.It is a great time to try and take a good buck late in the season, plus it is usually wet and the water helps push the deer up on the ridges if you know where to look.

I'm plannin on doing some bowhunting over christmas break. That is if I still have tags but I'd rather be sitting over a hole in the ice during the winter. December gets cold up here.
