Default Need Help Wounded Deer

I took my 16 year old neighbor hunting this morning and he shot a doe. The doe was standing behind a tree so he couldn't havehit it too far back, the arrowhad meat, very little bloodand brown hair on it. After he took the shot the doe turned a 180 and took off blowing the entire time. There was absolutely no blood trail so webacked out. Where do you guys think he hit her?

The shot was broadside, he was only a couple feet above the deer, 20 yard shot, he thinks it might have hit high

Sounds to me like it may have hit the void area of the deer above the vitals below the spine??? Or possibly the briskit? Or did he hit a branch and maybe just graze the deer (flesh wound) or hit a leg?

The so called void area above the lungs and below the spine does not exist. If he hit about the spine it is just a flesh wound the deer will recover. If hit below the spine you will catch at least the upper lobe of the lungs.
