Default Attention Quicksilver (and other inquiring minds)

A few weeks ago you posted about being afraid to climb walnut trees for fear of being hit in the head with a falling walnut. Last night while in my favorite stand (A large-very fruitful black walnut) i got to thinking about your thread. It went something like this.

6:15 Walnut falls several feet away.
6:17 3 doe appear in lower corner of feild
6:20 Doe are feeding my direction, approxiametely 75 yards away and closing
6:22 CONK! (I took a walnut square on the noggin that fell about 15 feet before my head got in the way...)
6:22 Various profanities, holding head, trying not to fall from tree & blury vison
6:23 Regain vision-spot doe running from field (pretty sure they were laughing)

Moral of the story, you are right man- don't hunt in a walnut tree without protection.

LMAO - that's classic! I haven't hunted my walnut stand yet - now I just might decide to hold off for another week or so (until the nuts are all off).

Special Ed from Crank Yankers comes to mind...

ummm...You'll be waiting a long time to hunt that tree if you are waiting forall the nuts fell from the tree... once you climb in it there is still a nut in the tree.[8D]
