215" Taken in Louisiana

HA HAHAHAHAH Not by me. I was related the story from someone I work with. The story goes this young man sets out a game cam in an area he has never hunted. He gets pics of a monster buck. Hunts for the buck. Kills a monster that is 215" and claims the buck he got on cam is bigger. I am just waiting for someone to cough up the pics. By the way, he went out and bought a bow at the beginning of summer and practiced till this season opened. Never shot a bow before that. Imagine that.

I know, USELESS WITHOUT PICS. I'll be on my buddy tomorrow and see what we can find on this monster.

Thats a big rack. Look at the belly on that pig in the first photo. I'm always a little suspect when I cant see a entry or exit wound. Not saying its not legit by no means. One heck of a trophy.

Chit!!

I knew we had more respectable deer than some people give us credit, but I've got to see more
proof on this one! The nice Louisiana bucks I have seen have a lot of body weight and antler
mass (palmated), but just don't usually stack up with the big boys in the width/length/tine
count area (think nasty swamp bucks).

I've seen that the areas around the big river bottoms (Atchafalaya and Mississippi) produce some
dandy bucks. Also, a lot of people don't know, but the deer were basically extinct in a lot of areas
of La. and they reintroduced deer from Wisconsin into Thistlewaite WMA (in St. Landry Parish - central La).
They call them royal blue something or other (maybe you Wisc. people can elighten me).
I wouldn't be surprised if this was killed in Avoyelles, one of the central/eastern river parishes,
or the Atchafalaya basin.

I guess La. boys can dream too. :D

I live in richland parish and it says that this deer was killed in tensas parish, but on the other forum it shows he is from lafeyette.the only public land that might produce this kind of buck is tensas national wildlife fefuge{which does'nt open till the end of oct.or 1st of nov.} and biglake wildlife management area[home of the current louisiana non-typicle record mcmurry buck}.That deer looks awful clean no blood no entry no exits no blood around the mouth ,I am going to get in touch with my local game warden and see what he knows about this deer.man that is a big buck though.by the way tensas parish is about 30-45 minute drive away from me.

it says that this deer was killed in tensas parish
Like I said, a parish along the Mississippi. They have tons of oxbows, fertile, mineral rich soil, crops,
the perfect environment for monsters.

Any one else notice the splay on his front hooves? Would leave a heck of a track in wet soil.

RE: 215" Taken in Louisiana

yea those areas produce some of the best whitetail genetics in the state and a lot of it is public hunting in biglake, tensas refuge and buckhorn wma.lots of pressure, but it can be productive.

Nice buck Eric!

Rob,

Sorry, the truck bed thing must be a La. thing. I guess they didn't read Matt/PA's big photo post. :D

I do hope they get that stud with a better backdrop than some 2x4 and insulation. [&:]

Yes, John, I cried at first when I saw that my buck had been taken by another, but what I didn't tell you
was that he had a twin brother who was separated at birth and traveled 120 miles to my area. But I
think he is only about 200"

Anyone notice the lady standing in front of the quad? Wearing a black T-shirt looking at a "How tofield dress" manual? She looks out of place, almost like a biologist or something.
