Chit!!

I knew we had more respectable deer than some people give us credit, but I've got to see more
proof on this one! The nice Louisiana bucks I have seen have a lot of body weight and antler
mass (palmated), but just don't usually stack up with the big boys in the width/length/tine
count area (think nasty swamp bucks).

I've seen that the areas around the big river bottoms (Atchafalaya and Mississippi) produce some
dandy bucks. Also, a lot of people don't know, but the deer were basically extinct in a lot of areas
of La. and they reintroduced deer from Wisconsin into Thistlewaite WMA (in St. Landry Parish - central La).
They call them royal blue something or other (maybe you Wisc. people can elighten me).
I wouldn't be surprised if this was killed in Avoyelles, one of the central/eastern river parishes,
or the Atchafalaya basin.

I guess La. boys can dream too.

I live in richland parish and it says that this deer was killed in tensas parish, but on the other forum it shows he is from lafeyette.the only public land that might produce this kind of buck is tensas national wildlife fefuge{which does'nt open till the end of oct.or 1st of nov.} and biglake wildlife management area[home of the current louisiana non-typicle record mcmurry buck}.That deer looks awful clean no blood no entry no exits no blood around the mouth ,I am going to get in touch with my local game warden and see what he knows about this deer.man that is a big buck though.by the way tensas parish is about 30-45 minute drive away from me.

Like I said, a parish along the Mississippi. They have tons of oxbows, fertile, mineral rich soil, crops,
the perfect environment for monsters.

Any one else notice the splay on his front hooves? Would leave a heck of a track in wet soil.
