Only about half of the people that post about these heads. Do a search on them and see what you find.[/blockquote]

[/align]Maybe it happened like this; hit the spine , off of the spine , hit the ribs, off the ribs ,hit the lungs and into the heart. It is possible [ I guess].

I promise to report the first time I have this happen to me (blades opening before or during the shot). I don't shoot my BH's at targets (hunting heads)....and I don't have foam in my quiver.

I'll give an honest assessment after I've used them a lot more, though.

IfigureI must have got a bad package of em, cuz all of mine work great. The complaints Ive seen about rage can be had with any mech. broadhead. If you brush a mechanical broadhead into twigs or grass it may open it may not. My GR also open when pushed into the foam, big deal. I check each arrow that I nock, right before I nock it anyways to make sure the BH is in tight, the lumenok is working, ect. There are the cases where the Rages wont lock into place reguardless, when or if this happens to me Ill get some of the rubberbands they use on braces. I know it says "no rubberbands" but who cares. Many companies say, "flies like a fieldpoint" when they dont and people adjust their sights but when Rage blades open prematurely all hell breaks loose. Im using em cuz they are insane, its like tipping your arrow with a chainsaw or something.

Where did you buy your Rage expandable broadheads? Both Cabelas and BassPro are backordered until the middle of October....

I had problems with my blades deploying in flight. I used rubberbands from an orthodontist (my daughter has braces), and they worked fine. I shot a doe Monday morning with them. No problems. Large holes, broke a rib on each side and she ran maybe 50 yards. Only thing I didn't like was, I hit her maybe 6 inches from the last rib, through both lungs, but it also cut the tube (esophagus?) that connects to the stomach so I had a little mess. Anybody ever done this? Probably should haveshot tighter to the shoulder. Anyway, no problem with the head...except price. I heard there were problems with durability but I didn't have any issues. After I clean it up, it looks like I could use it again, ofcourse I didn't hit anything hard except the ribs. I'll replace the blades before I reuse the head.

They work perfectly for me. I wouldnt change anything about them and I dont think their is any negative with them. I know they will be in my quiver for many years to come. I shot the buck in the picture above in the liver and it only ran 100 yards and was dead within 10 minutes. Where as I shot a doe in the liver last year with a fixed blade (that I love and trust) and she ran 1/2 a mile and I didnt find her for 4 days.
