Default when bucks seperate from the bachlor groups..

whats the best way to hunt bucks that you know are in the area after they get out of their bachlor groups? do you hunt rublines, rattle, grunt, foodplots, corn? since the bucks change their patterns, whats the best way to approach that? how does everybody else do it?

It's too early here in Ontario for grunting and rattling because the buck's haven't come into rut yet . I'm having a lot of success seeing the buck's right now at the food source .

I usually hunt them in transiton or staging areas where they "stage up" just before they head out to feed for the evening. Basically in between bedding areas and feeding areas. Bucks should start to develop their own core area and they wont be as patternable, but are certainly still killable

Strange.....but in my woods...I've never seen more than 2 bucks, together (without does) at any time in the season. I'd love to see this, one day.

Jeff, is there any agriculture fields around your woods? Ive seen upwards of 25 bucks in a bean field at one time before in the summer

I have beans to the South of me.....beans to the east....and I did have corn to my west. NOTHING on the side I can hunt.....until they get on the mast crops.

I saw some deer in the fields, this year....but it's a little disheartening knowing I can' thunt them, there. Never more than a couple, though....and always with does.

I seen five bucks together last night three shooters, small eight snd one that would of been a good one, but he had a g-2 broke off. Two of the nice one did really get into in it till dark I could see them fighting tell it got to dark, the 7 pointer walk right under my stand 10 yards are less and two others did to, but to dark to see there racks. I didn,t shoot I want one of the bigger ones. One of the buck after it started to get dark had to be one off the good ones, but i could tell because I couldn't see the racks that good.
