RE: Making the switch from "low top" boots to knee highs?
GMMAT is going to try the Muck boots. He said his shop owner uses them and you don't sweat in them. He tried in extreme weather or something like that. GMMAT can elaborate.
I've always worn rubber boots, well for about 15 years now, I prefer them in the woods. Today's boots have good support etc. I particular appreciate them cause I cross a creek on the way to one of my stands and the others usually have the water around. I think you'll be happy with the Muck duc.... :D |

Well, I think I'm sold on Muck. Just gotta decide if I need the Woody Max. It says they are comfortable from 40 degrees to -40 deg. I want something to wear the whole fall, 70's and 80's to the low teens.

How tall are we talkin? 18" or what? I thought about wearing wadders while crossing a creek/river to get to a couple stand locations. But if there is something on the market that I haven't seen and aretaller than 18", let me know where to find them.

RE: Making the switch from "low top" boots to knee highs?
ya'll must of got a different woody max than i got cause them long walks feel like lonnnng walks and you do sweat in them.
they are good on the stand in cold weather and good for crossing creeks if the mud dont pull them off. i think mine must be to big cause i just dont like walking in them but my brother loves his.mine leak at the end of one season, his hasn't leaked after four, good boots just cant hold up to my style of hunting lots of walking.the rubbers to easy to wear out.and no ankle support which i need badly this is just my experience with them, two pairs no more for me.looking at snake boots now. |
