2007 Broadhead success survey.
 

Lets do this years survey with a starting date of August 1, 2007 to.....? Please list the broadhead brand, model, grain weight, game animal taken and date the animal was taken.

For anyone not familiar with this survey, this is for the broadhead that was actually used to successfully take an animal in the current season. Thanks.

Doe taken at 21 yards. Hit high cut femoral artery and severed spine passed through and buried 6 inches into the ground. Cleaned broadhead and sharpened the blades and its back in the quiver.

So far im liking this head. They fly awesome, shot this deer 8 yards away and the arrow zipped through him without slowing down. Entry hole and exit are crazy, looked like a 7mag hit em. Not sure on performance if it hits bone though, would like to hear more feedback on these heads.

i use the 3 blade 100grain Rage Broadheads and i shot a doe about 25 yards and she went 40 yards-ish...they are darn good but alittle pricey..

i shot a huge doe on the 16th of September

Rage 2 Blade 100 grain.
Shot a doe at 15 yards onOct 1 2008. Pass through.
She ran about 50 yards. Huge holes, broke through two ribs, and a good blood trail.
Broad head is in perfect shape. After I cleaned it up, it looks like I could use it again.
I'll replace the blades first. Good head but pricey. While testing I had problems with the blades deploying prematurely. I used a rubber band (from an orthodontist - my daughter has braces) to make sure the blades sayed put until inpact.

Doe shot with SlickTrick Magnum 125 grain at about 18 yards. Passed thru and buried in ground about 6 inches. Shot on 9-22-07. Cut artery under spine and nicked spine. Went thru left lung. One edge showed some nicksthe rest of the head was in like new shape.

100 grain NAP spitfire Pro series mechanical
1.5 year old spike buck. Estimated live weight 70#, taken @ 41 yards in Southeast Missouri.
Shot was through the hams. Complete pass through and lodged in the ground about 3".
Blood trail was slight at first, but quickly increased to make tracking fairly easy.
Deer recovered in less than 120 yards.
Broadhead was in perfect shape. Washed the dirt out of it and and replaced the blades, though they showed no obvious signs of damage.
